At Aligned Counseling, we are currently an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies.
Many of our clients are still able to use their insurance benefits through one of the options below:
Option 1: Use Your Out-of-Network Benefits
Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits.
Here's how it works:
- You pay for sessions at the time of service.
- We provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with the information your insurance company needs).
- You submit the superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
- If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of your therapy costs.
Before starting therapy, we recommend calling your insurance company and asking:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my deductible?
- What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed after my deductible is met?
- Is pre-authorization required?
Option 2: Request a Single Case Agreement (Network Exception)
In some situations, insurance companies may approve a Single Case Agreement (also called a Network Exception or Gap Exception).
This allows an out-of-network therapist to be treated as in-network for a specific client.
Approval is determined entirely by your insurance company and is never guaranteed.
This option may be worth exploring if:
- You are specifically seeking faith-informed therapy.
- You would like a therapist who understands LDS culture and values.
- You have been unable to find an available in-network provider who meets your needs.
- There are limited provider options in your area.
You can contact your insurance company and say:
"I would like to request a network exception or single case agreement for an out-of-network therapist. I am specifically seeking faith-informed therapy from a therapist who specializes in working with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My faith and spiritual beliefs are an important part of my mental health care, and I have not been able to find an available in-network provider who offers this specialty. Can you tell me the process for requesting a single case agreement or network exception?"
If your insurance company would like information from us, we're happy to provide the documentation needed for them to review your request.
Bishop/Clergy Pay
We’re happy to offer special arrangements for Bishops and clergy members.
We know every situation is different, so we take a personalized approach to make sure your needs are supported.
Feel free to reach out and we can talk through what would work best.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed appointments, may be charged a late cancellation fee of $100.
This policy allows us to reserve time specifically for each client and offer available appointments to others who may be waiting for care.
Utah and Idaho Based Virtual Therapy
As a virtual clinic, we’re unable to handle emergency situations.
If you are in crisis, please call 988 for the mental health support line, 911 or attend your nearest emergency department.
